THINGS TO EXPECT:

WEEDS - Stimulated by winter rains. Don't allow them to mature and
produce seed. |
| APHIDS
ON VEGETABLES, TREES & SHRUBS |
| SPIDER
MITES can be expected with warming weather and spring winds. Rinse
them off foliage with a forceful fine spray of water every week or so during
this season, mitacides may be necessary. |
| FLEA
BEETLES on grape and flower leaves, as well as ground covers. |
| CITRUS BLOOM AND
FRUIT DROP can be minimized by moderately watering trees on a two-week
schedule during the blooming and fruit-set season. |
THRIPS
in citrus bloom will do little harm, and sprays may harm honeybees.

| RIPE FRUIT DROP
OF CITRUS may be provoked by spring rains, irritations or winds. |
| MILDEW on Roses,
Euonymus, Cucurbits & Grapes – due to carry-over infection from last
year. |
| BIRDS AND WORMS
can devour enlarging vegetable seedlings. Carbaryl or Bacillus thuringiensis
is effective for worms and net coverings are the nest practical control
for birds. |
| SEASONAL LEAF DROP
may be more noticeable following irrigation’s. |
